Harvey responded to Daniel David Palmer with how he had moved the wrong way and when he did, he heard a pop in his back. Harvey informed Daniel David Palmer that at that same time he lost part of his hearing. Daniel recognized that spinal misalignments and the pressure had an adverse effect on the nerves as well as the overall function of the body. Many of the practices of chiropractic nature were taught and handed down within the family. Daniel’s son and daughter-in-law both carried the science forward over several decades.

Daniel started his own school of chiropractic, the Palmer School of Chiropractic. This is where he taught his methods to the first chiropractors.
